Hello, I'm Kelcey Dabel.

Kelcey Dabel

Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Lactation Counselor

I am a wife to a wonderful, smart, and supportive husband, and mother of, so far, two wildly independant and strong willed children. After graduating from highschool I decided to pursue a degree in science with the hopes of going to nursing school. Even as a child I wanted to be a neonatal nurse (or nicu nurse). I always felt a strong urge to help others and be a support for those in need. Shortly into my college career I got pregnant and married all in the same year and decided that my family needed to be my focus. It wasn’t until I had my children that I realized how much I could have benefitted from having a doula and a postpartum doula. Both of my births were memorable for different reasons, but I had to fight for what I wanted and did not leave my births feeling respected, empowered, or equipped for what was to come. It was then that I became passionate about educating, supporting, and helping others so they didn’t go through what I had to go through. I dove in head first to certify with Bebo Mia as a birth and postpartum doula and have been so inspired and encouraged by the awesome women and families I’ve met along the way.

I attended my first birth at the age of 7, and I have attended so many more in between, from home births to hospitals births, and almost birthing my son in the car. I have learned from every experience, training course, book, and figuring out my own personal pregnancy to parenting journey. My goal as a doula is to be an unbiased, non-judgemental resource for people who are trying to figure out the best decisions for them and their families and to be a support along side families in such an impactful and unforgettable journey.

What do I do for fun?

For fun I enjoy spending time with my family. We like to go up to duck creek and camp and disconnect from time to time. I love reading just about any book, but mostly books that help me grow as a person or in my career. I am also a homeschool mom to my preschooler and so far that’s been pretty fun!

I’m honored and excited to be a part of your journey in pregnancy and postpartum and share my passion with you.
